ASPIN’s Opioid Impacted Family Support Program and Apprenticeship
Program Goals:
The ASPIN Opioid Impacted Family Support Program (AOIFSP) will expand on ASPIN’s existing para-professional certificate program for Community Health Workers (CHW) by the addition of an Opioid Impacted Family Support Certificate. CCHWs will better understand the specific needs of providing services to children whose parents are impacted by opioid use disorders (OUD) and other substance use disorders (SUD), and their family members who are in guardianship roles.
Apprenticeship Goals:
The one-year paid apprenticeship program will provide in-service training that places paraprofessional trainees in behavioral health-related positions addressing OUD and SUD, through prevention, intervention, treatment, and/or support.
